My wife and I used to work this big garden across the street from us years ago until it got to be to much work for us. Two of my friends work the garden now and it's a joke. They always get the planting fever but never get the cultivating fever.

I've actually seen them MOWING the weeds out of the garden.

What a Face Unbelievable! I bet you are just dancing with joy at not having to weed that any more. Just looking at the corn, there is so much wasted area.

Mr. Booker, I do hope you are enjoying your current garden. It is sad that some gardens can overpower us.

I have a neighbour who loves gardening, and he has taken over the garden of the house next door that he used to live in.  His neighours now have a well-kept garden and a share of the produce with no work. and he has a new and modern house that he can enjoy.   When his neighbours retire, then they will take back the garden and he will enjoy his final years.  Win-win.

LOL, is that a garden or a mini-farm going fallow?

Not sure what's growing between what I assume are rows of sweet corn.  And what's planted in the two sides of the corn area, or is that all fallow too?

I am a bit jealous of the space.  You could experiment with squashes, watermelons, and anything else that burns up two squares per.

Except for the corn, it's all weeds. They let the weeds take over every summer then bush hog it down which only gets the gorund ready for next years WEED crop.

A couple dump trucks of wood chips would probably help a lot. Clean isles would at least be more inspiring to keep the weeds pulled in the beds.

Oh, dear....I almost feel sorry for them.  I had a much smaller scale traditional Rodale style garden...it was all pretty nice until mid-July.  Heat, bugs, weeds all taking over.  Plays just the time (work full time with 3 kids) and awful conditions....it all went south pretty fast.

Background music:  "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N Roses

That was me, but not nearly so much ground!  Wow....it is terrible.....and such a waste.  At least my bed was amended well, and I did mulch some with compost....

Oh my.  Wow, just a chicken coop tractor would at least mow the weeds.  Just have to move it daily.

Still, no judgement, I don't have one for the exact same reason, moving it daily probably going to get missed.
