Question? The books say stop watering melons when they begin to fruit. Does that also apply to the SFG I am thinking that if it dosent rain often the mlons should still be watered or am I wrong?

OOOOOoooooohhh!
I hope that the answer is it should be watered. I planted mine in a self-watering container so it will receive consistent watering throughout the growing season. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought they required consistent watering to develop nicely formed fruit. In other words it shouldn't be a lot then a little.

Water them until about a week from picking. Withholding water for that last week will give you sweeter melons.
