Thats a good question, At this point in their development, I bet there is no difference in the size.....(just saying)
They were both the same size until that episode when 1 was removed from the nest for treatment.
Even though they fed him white treating, he came back smaller than the other.
I think he is catching up a bit now..
At maturity the male is physically smaller.

I just had to laugh.  Watching the chicks and one stood up and shot a jet of pee right out of the nest.  Never even touched the sides.  Neat.

Recognizable feathers on the wings of the larger chick. Smaller one tucked half under momma.  All three asleep.

Wow. I haven't looked for a few days. Look at those feathers, maybe some true feathers starting. The dinner etiquette seems to have worked itself out.

The best view yet with both parents on the nest and feeding the chicks.  Dad has now left and mom is feeding the larger chick and it is a really good view. One can see her tearing the food, a small animal, to bits and the chick taking it from her beak.

Before mom returned dad was feeding the smaller chick while the larger seemed to be asleep after getting first dibs but now awake again..

March and the young eagles are getting quite large now, one much more than the other.  Both flexing their wings often.  I expect the larger one will fly several days before the other, then the smaller one can play catch up as it will be fed without having to wait its turn.

The parents will still have their job of teaching the young ones to hunt and I expect that will take all summer.

I wonder if they have any memory of their previous offspring?

Before they start flying, they do what is called branching.
This is where an eaglet will hop up to branch close by, probably feeling like a king...then back to the nest, and back and forth for at least a few days. Then one day it just takes off, into the wild blue yonder as an eagle should do.

I will look forward to "branching" jimmy, then count the days before the second starts branching.

Thanks for posting this link; it has given me much pleasure at all times of the day and night.

WOW...CC thanks so much for this link
I watched it last season until a storm came along and messed the cam up.
They couldn't repair it because of the eagles not allowed to be disturbed...I was checking  for quite some time and gave up..so happpy it's back...thanks again

OK ....ready for another one ????this was the nest over in Hanover PA.
Last season a storm came through and the camera tipped over, not being able to repair it, they just shut it down..back up and there are 2 eggs waiting to hatch..There isn't night vision for this one, only visible during daylight hours.

This MN eagle is a lousy housekeeper...her nest is loaded with dead things, along with 3 eaglets!

Maybe her motto is "the eaglets are young only once, housekeeping will always be there" Wink
