I believe that the USA has something called State Extension Offices where you can get all sorts of information particular to your area, especially what grows well in your local area, and including last and first frost dates.
I am in Canada and so far I have not heard if we have anything like that.

A lot of the universities have all kinds of information also. I think Llama Mama is in Ohio. Maybe she can help you.

The Extension offices are tied to the state agricultural university and are at least partially funded by the federal funds that created the universities. They are a great source of information on local conditions, plant varieties, disease, pests and sources. The Master Gardener program is run out of their offices. The extension officer is also a university professor at my extension office and I believe it is a requirement. It is your tax dollars at work so take advantage.

J - Ohio State apparently has the extension services. You should be able to find one in your county.

Here you go! If you are in Fairfield County like I am, check out Events--Feb 25th. Yours truly presenting a discussion on sq. ft. gardening. If you are Pickaway County I'll be speaking there in March.

Kelejan, in my area we don't have an extension office but instead are directed to Master Gardeners for help. Maybe you have something like that?

I did not find anything either. There must be something for Canadian gardeners.sanderson wrote:I looked at it but could not find anything like we have in the States. Hope you have better luck.
Perhaps I had better take out a subscription to Mother Earth or Canadian Gardener.
