A few of the tomato plant root balls are near the middle of the box so there is a little room to put a few things. Today I transplanted a few basil and 1 calendula into the middle.

CC how do you trellis or stake your indeterminate tomatoes now?

I mostly use Mels trellis which holds up in anything nature can toss at us.
new improved - My Garden: New and Improved - Page 2 3868
But this year I put the overflow plants into the old school SFG and elsewhere and am using large tomato cages and bamboo stakes. They'll go down with the wind, unless I tie them to the rhodie bush behind them which was the original plan. Others I've left to sprawl. It's an experiment.[/quote]

Alright CC, Here's a video just for you. The stupid thing uploaded to the wrong account.  Dumb phone. I cannot figure out how to move it to my other channel. It took forever to upload so if anyone out there is a youtube guru and can help me so I don't have to re upload it, please speak up. Thanks

Excellent explanation! and your video came out great, Camp. I didn't know about weaving one of the side branches so as to stabilized the plant against the wind. Thank you so much!

Now how about a video of the first trellis you wove earlier that isn't for tomatoes, the one you said that you saw it done and taught yourself how to do it?

But I think that one would be impossible to do with one hand.

I'll work on that. Gotta figure out how to place the camera so I can us two hands to weave the trellis web.

Your brussel sprouts amaze me every time I see them.  I have four tiny ones that I hope will make it thru the winter and then take off in the spring.

Thanks. As usual I waited too long to nip the top. Hopefully the weather will be good enough to have these babies keep growing until at least Thanksgiving. I bet yours will make it! Very Happy
