We have used cypress mulch for about 20 years.  We discovered it when we moved to FL and have found it easily here in TX.  I've mulched small flower beds and even used it to cover the soil in potted plants.  We like it because it is relatively dense and doesn't float away like other mulches do.

The time of year for really hot temps is fast approaching for our area.  I know that the heat, sun and wind will wick moisture out of my TT's very rapidly.  I was considering using cypress mulch atop the MM but thought there might be some down side that I know nothing about.

What say ye or mighty SFGrs?  Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Anyone Using Cypress Mulch atop MM? 2027012869  I saw it everywhere we went in Florida. Hope others chime in so I know if it's okay. I looked for it the other day but the Fresno, California stores don't seem to have it.

That's what we're using!  I figure cypress breaks down so slowly that it'll last quite a while.  When I have to replant a square, I'll just take it off, compost, add the new item and replace it.

All the plants seem to be happy with it...

Thank, AM!

I was uncertain whether it had been to kindergarten and learned to play well with MM.

I'll let you know if any problems pop up.

But having put down a dozen bags or so, I sure hope they play well!
