Re: Green Juicing: Growing & Recipes Ideas
Last Christmas, my daughter got me this juicer. I juiced for about 2-3 months until the orange crop was gone. Oranges, celery, radish, lemon and some greens. I'm using it again with apples as the sweet spot.
My gastroenterologist said losing some weight would help my liver. You know, like a goose. So, I'm going to use juicing for breakfast and get serious.
Any one else having to get serious?

I got serious this past spring and summer. Not by juicing though. Nutrisystem. I lost 35 pounds but have gained back 15 pounds. Story of my life. Lose then gain. Maybe I need to change my eating habits permanently. I tried once with weight watchers and lost lots but eventually gained it back.

Re: Green Juicing: Growing & Recipes Ideas
I saw an interview with an author about "ugly" veggies. She said that we aren't doing ourselves any favors by eating the tender, pretty inside leaves and hearts. It's the big, ugly outside leaves that contain the most nutrients, antioxidants, etc. So, my question is: Do you folks juice those big, tough, chewed, broken, rough-looking leaves, or do they make the juice bitter?has55 wrote: We focus a large part of our SFG on different types of greens, so that we have plenty of leaves to cut from and give the plants time to grow their leaves back.
