Help! New to SFG in Southeastern CT!
Hello! I'm new to gardening in general but new to SFG as well. I just moved to Southeastern CT 2 years ago, so not completely familiar with the weather out here compared to the Midwest.
Can someone walk me through what you plant and when? I have read the book and am reading it again! I bought all my soil and stuff to make two 4x4 beds.
For this area when do you start planting? And what? (based on what is successful out here).
When do you start planting indoors and which ones are best for that in this area? I saw many have already started planing things in another post and that had me worried that I am behind!
Thank you so much! I think I am just overwhelmed and could use any expert advise you have specific to this area.
THANKS!

Asngardner, Welcome to the Forum!
For local information, you can try your local State Cooperative Extension or local Master Gardeners. Also, there are other Forum folks in your general area who can help you.
On a different note, what have you gathered for your mixed compost? Getting the Mel's Mix (MM) right is sometimes the hardest part of getting started. Also, make sure you measure the peat moss after you fluff it. It almost doubles in size!
Again, Welcome

I never thought about the local Master Gardeners! I knew some of them in Indiana where I used to live, but don't know anyone around here. So I will look into that!
I have gathered some vermiculite, several different types of compost, and peat moss. I didn't even think about measuring after you fluff it! I was just going on cubic feet on the bags! That's very helpful!
I ordered several types of seeds and they have all arrived, and I ordered a few plants that have already been started. Other than that, I'm just starting off. I thought we would start building the garden in the next week or so, and then start mixing the soil together.
Thank you for the help! I appreciate it!
