I chose this greenhouse cover for a couple of reasons.
I wanted to make a hoop house, but I can't transport 10 ft long pcs of PVC from store to my house.
Also, I wanted something to use not only to warm the soil in spring and extend the fall season, but to keep the bugs off. This rig has a layer of netting when you unzip the plastic cover in the two topsides. Hopefully the crops will be warm and cozy without being too hot.
I don't know how it will work for me here is Maine, but I'll keep you posted to let you know if it was worth the $68.99 it cost me from Frame-it-all (free shipping over $50).
I plan to have just about every square a different crop so that will be a way to see what works well inside. I just love experimenting.

Quiltbea - that is beautiful. Whoever came up with that idea is clever, since 4x4 raised beds seem to be so popular now.

And I see they have them for $50 now on amazon, with 1.99 shipping. Probably won't last, since regular list price is $85 it says.

I don't know how long the thin plastic will last, but if you could figure out how to replace the plastic if it rips, with a thicker quality, at least you have the frame there. I really like the lined fold-up flaps and the zippers. Nice. Will be anxious to hear what you think of it.

I use plastic vinyl over my A-frame and that's easily bought at Walmart in different gauges so I know I can always cover the greenhouse frame if the current plastic is damaged.

Thank you so much for this link. I see I am not behind (except in shopping for seeds!) by much after all.

I thought I'd read that you all are starting spinach now but the link above says I should plant seeds outside on March 23rd. Is that what you experienced gardeners think is correct?

Thanks!

I am no where near planting outside. If things dry up some, er, after the snow melts, I may get lucky and get peas and spinach, beets and carrots planted by the end of March. I do have to plant my summer plants, tomatoes, aubergine, peppers and such, soon and indoors. cpl, what town are you in again?
