This is a list of what I would like to grow this year...Anyone willing to share their favorite varieties/brands? Just trying to get an idea so I can plan/do my seed buying and I was curious what you all seem to like... Thanks! Smile Oh, I live in the Upper South region if that makes a difference...

Yellow Corn (I would actually like to have a couple of yellow/white hybrid plants... I dont even know if hybrid is the right word...)
Lettuce bib/head
Red Cabbage
Tomatoes – Heirloom and cherry
Onions – yellow/white/green
Peppers – banana/jalapeno/yellow and green bell/chili /cayenne
Potatoes
Cucumbers
Corn
Carrots
Green Beans
Beets
Garlic/thyme/rosemary/cilantro/oregano/bay leaves (which r what plant btw???)
Blueberries/Cherries/Raspberries/Strawberries/Watermelon

Thanks again!

Here is an article on growing the bay laurel tree.

MM in a pot is the way I would go.

Kay, you forgot to post the link, I think!

I grew Yukon Golds and red pontiacs last year and the Yukon golds tasted way better althouth they were both good. And sweet 100s are an excellent cherry tomato producer as well as pear tomato! I also loved lemon boy for a slicing yellow tomato. And for beets Detroit dark red. Those are a few of my favorites!

A couple of standouts in my garden:
Lettuce bib/head - Buttercrunch
Peppers – Golden Marconi
Potatoes - I buy a multicolor fingerling pack from the grocery...
Cucumbers - Sumter, Muncher, Bosting Pickling, Marketmore...
Carrots - Try one of the Rainbow mixes.
Green Beans - Try a yard long bean if you have the room.
Watermelon - Desert King!
Tomatoes – Nyagous, Eva Purple Ball, Brown Berry, Yellow Pear, Pineapple.

Corn - Silver Queen

Cucumber - Muncher - I tried 4 varieties of cucumbers last year and by far the best producer was muncher. They produced female flowers right from the start and therefore earlier production than the other three varieties. My taste buds are shot so I can't tell you if the taste was any better than the others.

For the purple carrots Cosmic Purple has always been a good producer for me. Dark purple skin with bright orange insides, great flavor!
