book recommendations on companion planting
Well I am going to order the SFG book and saw another book at the bottom that I thought would be interesting.
Carrots Love Tomatoes: Secrets of Companion Planting for Successful Gardening
Have yall read it? Is it good? I have heard of companion planting before but I havent learned anything about it yet.
I dont want to waste my money on a crappy book.

The book is by Louise Riotte. She covers many topics besides veggie companions so I would recommend you take a little time at the library or book store to thumb through it first before purchasing.

The part of the book about vegetables and herbs was helpful. But there was about 20 pages of vegetable information and 20 pages of herb information. The other 150+ pages of the book is about Grasses, fruits, nuts, ornamental trees & shrubs, garden techniques, soil improvement, pest control, poisonous plants, & garden plans.
You might also like Great Garden Companions by Sally Jean Cunningham. I bought both books at the same time and ended up using this book more than Carrots Love Tomatoes. My memory is horrible so I can't remember why I liked one over the other. But I see from looking at my copy of Great Garden Companions that I have marked many pages so I assume I used it much more when I was planting my garden last Spring.

Or you could google 'Companion Plants' and find several sources with charts that can be printed. They can be very helpful.

Nine pages of easy to follow lists of companions . Mine are now back to back in heat sealed envelopes , they reside with my seed data lists that are also in sealed envelopes for easer of access and use .
