Reads like secured bridal tulle may work if seed purity is desired.
Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
I don't save pepper seeds, so no worries! Duh!

Very impressive! Wow! How many and what type of plants do you have growing yolos?yolos wrote:I think it is time to try and figure out how to use the pressure canner I bought last month. I have tomatoes coming out my ears.
I harvested the following today. Something ate the leaves on one of my sweet potato vines so I harvested this sweet potatoe vine early. Also, I think I may have waited to long to harvest the eggplant. But if it is too tuff, I will get my son in law to make eggplant chips.

Very nice Sanderson. Big pepper fan over here! Second only to tomatoes. Great pull!sanderson wrote:I'm this close to pulling all the peppers to make room for the winter starts. Green Jimmy N., 2 red chilis, poblamo, cayenne, jalapeno, paprika, 3 eggplants, green, orange and lilac bells.

Harvest! What harvest?
Given that Ottawa is starting September with the coldest temperatures on record (i.e., since they started taking temperature readings), I have chosen an avatar to match those conditions. I'll probably change it to a harvest avatar in a few days.
Actually, here is today's harvest.

Brian, that photo is from 2016 but thank you!
TD, The garden harvest that would! Hope you get some Canadian crookneck before it freezes. My first year, 2013, I planted winter squash thinking that they grow in winter. Nope.

I will probably change this several times this month. I am so thrilled to have a harvest at all after this brutal summer. This is definitely "the year of the cucumber" around here. I have 2 more just like these ready to pick as soon as we eat these two. We'll be cutting into the cantaloupe later today. Fingers crossed.

Yes...those 4 little red things, bottom center, are my potato harvest. No laughing!
I should have eaten the seed potatoes.

Absolutely no laughing. Small potatoes are much better for us than large ones.CapeCoddess wrote:Yes...those 4 little red things, bottom center, are my potato harvest. No laughing!

Beautiful harvest/avatar.
Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
CC, I'm not laughing at your harvest but at your description of it ... especially the bit about eating the seed potatoes. The harvest looks great to me.CapeCoddess wrote:TD!

Beautiful, SR! You've had a nice run with the patty pans. Just think what you can do next year with your new found knowledge to cover a planting time. You'll be inundated!

Okay, I see a big nose, a grinning mouth, a green eye patch, a uni-brow, and a Carmen Miranda hat. Am I missing anything?trolleydriver wrote:Got rid of the shivering guy

Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
YIKES! It's October! Now what should we do?
Re: Monthly Avatar: September, Show Off Your Garden Harvest!
My thought is to continue with the Harvest theme for October. In Nov we can have a winter garden theme?
