Fostering plants question
I'm posting this for KelliK.
Hello Friends,
So I am sitting here wondering about "fostering" (buying in wholesale for cheap) some bare root trees/ shrubs/ perrinials in my SFG until the spring, and then potting and selling them to local nurseries (to make a profit). Have any of you had experience doing this? If so, I would love to know how it went. I figure that if the garden is going to sleep over the winter and will be bare, it might as well have some friends to keep company, and maybe make some money.
Thank you so much!
KelliK

Re: Fostering plants question
i suspect there would be no benefit to a nursery in buying from someone other than a supplier, since they will get the same wholesale pricing you would get in this plan.

Are you considering by any chance using Ohio's Mike McGroarty's program?
I've been curious for sometime about his business plan, he sure seems on the up and up, but decided I've seen plenty of SFG with my own eyes and believe in the potential business side of it.

I agree Roweena, that is a nice way of putting it. That's why I hinted he sure seems to be on the up and up.

I haven't done this, but someone told me the key is to get a contract with a nursery first...
