what to plant suggestions needed

I have a new bed of MM. I planted 8 sweet potatoes on the north long 4th row(4x8x12in). in the west end of row 3 I have the 9th sweet potatoe,leaving 7 squares. I am about to plant the first and second rows with Fordhook lima beans. My question is what to fill the 7 squares on row 3 with, that will handle the taters presure even trellised?

How about corn, making it a sort of a version of Three sisters?

I've just planted some corn in an area that I have some volunteer(must have missed some small ones when harvesting last fall) sweet potatoes coming up. I figure the SP will cover the ground under the corn and maybe can trellis it up the corn.. It's an experiment.
