Hi, I would like to have an organic garden and was wondering:

if i plant some organic seeds/ plants and some non-organic, is my garden then not organic? (I ask this because I heard a staff member at a nursery say that if an organic and non-organic plant is in the same truck, they can't call the 'organic' plant organic anymore)

Thanks so much for the help!

All I can offer is that even non organic plants or seeds grown in MM and following organic practices is better for you than the grocery store.

So I consider myself a mostly organic grower. It's not for sale so I don't care.

Mixing organic and non-organic plants Empty What's organic?

This is important only if you are a commercial, organic grower seeking organic certification. For the rest of us, it's enough that a plant is grown without inorganic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc. The organic certification process requires organic seed, three years of organic culture in the soil, etc.

Anything you grow in Mel's Mix at home is going to taste better than anything you can get in a grocery store even if it's labeled and certified as organic, if only because it's fresher.
