Re: My Garden Adventure, 2012
Thanks for the tip!songstriss wrote:SwampCatNana that's really cool. I'm going to try that. As for the corn my neighbor told me to put mineral oil on the silks as soon as they begin to appear and it keeps the bugs out of the corn.
Did you try it this summer? Did you add the oil before or after the pollination?

Re: My Garden Adventure, 2012
May I cry now? It's nostalgic to see this thread.
Last year about this time, I converted this garden from partial SFG with raised boxes and dirt and raised boxes to full SFG. We pulled up all the weeds/grass in the common area around my plot, patted all the dirt level to ground, laid landscape cloth, stapled it down, used the boxes we had previously ffilled with dirt, then made and filled them MM. It was GLORIOUS!
Just as we finished, we lost the garden! Nearly $800 at risk.
We pulled up EVERYTHING. I posted the boxes on Craig's list, and they sold quickly on Jan 1, 2013. We bagged up the MM and rolled the landscape cloth.
The new place...wow. Watch for the new thread.
I miss the forum and all of you!
