What is this plant?
This has sprouted in my bed. Has anyone an idea what it is?

It is hard to tell at that stage. The second set of leaves should look a little different, and you might be able to tell. It looks familiar, maybe broccoli or the likes.
Might be a keeper... If it is, my grandmother would call that a Volunteer!

What did you have planted in the box last year that went to seed. That might give you a clue. Or a nearby box or plant. It does look like a cabbage or broccoli at this stage.

I have cabbage in that box, but they did not go to seed(from transplants) but, the next bed over had broccoli, which did not head up, just went to flowering. May be a broccoli, which, if we don't get some cold weather, will get big at the same time we get some 90's. Jo

My BH says he is pretty sure it is a radish. I did have them planted in other beds. Will just have to see later on. I have lettuce coming up all over, maybe someone in the area had a plant go to seed and birds/wind have brought it in.

I'm posting another pic. I don't think it's a radish. It now has 2nd leaves. Sure grows slow.

hmm... so the mystery volunteer, if there are several, I would remove them from the bed and pot them up and let them continue growing, just to find out what it is. The second mystery volunteer with the golden stems looks to me like either a gold beet or a chard. In any case, fine to eat.

Found out!
It's a radish, maybe some that didn't come up. I have not had any go to seed. Looks ike a Salad Rose, which I had planted, but did not come up. I tried it and it is the hottest radish on earth. Guess that is cause it's from last yr and it grows 'so slow'

I would say that the first one is a hollyhock plant and the second one is swiss chard.
The second one COULD be orange beets as well, I got the two of them mixed up last year
I also ended up with a volunteer hollyhock a few years ago, and have several seedlings of them in my greenhouse.....
