How can you have peas and I don't yet! LOL. Congrats!
Re: February 2012 Gardening happenings
I have 2sets of peas started 1/28 in the chairtops and 2/3 in a tabletop bed. I was away for 2 weeks and my neighbor moved the chairtops into the flowerhouse so they are about 2" high and the ones in a tabletop have broken the surface.
lettuce in the chairtop and radishes in the tabletop.

Leap Day in the PNW
Well... all of our sunshine today is either liquid or white, and the temps at the house haven't climbed over 38 degrees. The wind is blowing, so some of our rain is coming sideways. Not very good weather for anything outside, so I'm contenting myself in my spare time with managing the sprouts, playing with the dogs, and dreaming of spring.

Hey Kim
What are thinking of planting? I was going to start cabbage, brocolli, and cauliflower inside this weekend but when do you plan to start spinach?

Sorry Curio about the winter weather out your way.
Floyd, I'm planting my broccoli plants, some more kohlrabi, beets, romaine lettuce today. My spinach has been overwintered so it's ready to eat now but I'm planting more today also.

Re: February 2012 Gardening happenings
Eating peas, the last of the broccoli, lots of lettuce, munching broccoli/swiss chard chips and pulling tomatoes that made it through the winter. Tomatoes are flowering, planted my transplant tomatoes, eggplant and peppers; sowed my rattlesnake beans, blue bush beans, purple pod beans and chinese red noodle beans yesterday.... and added about 20 sq ft to my garden along the wall.

Re: February 2012 Gardening happenings
Since we are close to hardness zones, you suggest to plant the spinach in the ground now? Also I gather you are starting others inside as well.
And with spinach is 9 plants to crowded for 1 square foot area? Have never grown spinach before so ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Floyd
